Description

This hand carved spoon is made from beautiful Catalpa wood. Carved while traveling in Greece, it is from the village my partner’s family goes to for the summer.

Wood is a great material to use for eating with as it is a natural insulator (won??t get too hot or cold) and is naturally anti-bacterial. Using a wooden spoon is a beautiful sensory experience, nearly silent, soft on the hands and mouth and pleasing to the eye.

Each spoon is hand carved using only an axe and knives. All the tool marks are left on the wood, so no sanding here! Each facet and cut is tells the story of a handmade object.

Dimensions: Approximately – 170mm x 45mm.

Finished with a hand rubbed food safe linseed oil/beeswax mixture.
